Action Center - How To Take Action:

We understand that it is very frustrating and enraging to realize what is happening to America's horses in foreign owned slaughter houses, which are operating for the sole purpose of profit from meat for human consumption.

As you know, the majority of the horses are NOT old, sick or crippled. Most horses are in excellent shape and bought under false pretenses. They are transported hours to days in double-decker trailers without leg wraps, water, food or exercise. Their death comes often by repeated hits to their ever-moving head without proper restraint. You believe that mass horse slaughter is not humane and anyone who sees it as humane must be afraid of seeing the real truth. We agree that there is only one humane way and that is euthanasia by an experienced vet!

If you feel helpless, don't! There are lots of things you can do to fight until the last horse is safe!

Quote:
"What is the difference between a horse and a steer and a hog?
The horse is an icon along with the bald eagle.  What is the difference between a bald eagle and a pigeon or a turkey?  And if you do not know the difference, we cannot explain it to you."
-- Rep. Jim Moran, Virginia, 6/8/05
